Top Fringe Picks: Day 5

Don’t be blown away by the wind, be blown away by great theatre!

Of course, every day, we’ll always comment on the weather – you can’t be in Edinburgh and not, I’m afraid.  But we have come across a couple more note-worthy coffee places for you to keep yourselves warm and energised: Brew Lab and Filament.  Both delightfully “hipster” with beautifully soulwarming Aeropress options.  Definitely worth checking out.

The caffeine has definitely been helping out for us, the show has been getting better and better each day and it’s lovely to hear such great feedback from people.  Don’t miss Captured every day (12.40pm @ Underbelly Cowgate).  Only 19 shows left! The previews are over and reviews are starting to come in, so as you start comparing which reporters to trust and deciding how many stars is too many stars, here’s our daily update of recommended shows:

Fat Girls Don’t Dance – Maria Ferguson 2.50pm @ Underbelly Cowgate

Actor Gabby says: “Laugh out loud funny.  I was gripped from the get go and she took us on a real undulating journey.  The best thing I’ve seen thus far at the Fringe.”

3 words to sum up: Hilarious, Authentic & Extremely Likeable.

Exactly Like You – Lotte Rice  3.10pm @ Underbelly Cowgate

Director Suzy says: “A physically-charged performance about a woman’s relationship with her Nan and Mum.  A dynamic and expressive one woman show told through witty poetry, gorgeous singing and engaging personal story-telling. “

3 words to sum up: Soulful, Charismatic, & Gutsy.

The Life and Times of Lionel –  Forget About The Dog 6pm @ Pleasance Courtyard

Actor Gabby says: “This show was ridiculously creative with unique puppetry and movement and humour, full of surprises. Can’t quite believe this is Forget About The Dog’s first show. Go and see it.”

3 words to sum up: Intelligent, Innovative, & Touching
