Top Fringe Picks: Day 18

Here comes the wet weekend…

Although we are saying goodbye to the gorgeous weather of the past few days there is still loads to be excited about & and what better thing to do on a rainy afternoon than get absorbed in some breathtaking theatre? We’re performing Captured every day (12.40pm @ Underbelly Cowgate) and would love to see you there but tickets have been selling fast over the weekend so get booking to avoid missing out! Our top weekend picks are:

Empty Beds – 1.50pm @ Underbelly, Cowgate

Marketing Assistant Richard says: “After you have enjoyed Captured, why not go straight in to see this award winning gem from new writer Julia Cranney, which starts 10 minutes later? The Wyld sisters are delayed, desperate to visit their ill brother in a mental hospital at the other end of the country. Their journey is a masquerade of sibling rivalry doused in authentic moments of sisterly love. Striking performances by three youthful yet mature actors. Highly recommended.”

3 words to sum up:  Exuberant, Involving & Passionate.

Lucy, Lucy & Lucy Barfield  – How Small How Far 3.30pm @ Pleasance Courtyard

Director Suzy says: “A lovely piece about the search into the life of the real Lucy who C.S. Lewis dedicated The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe to after naming Lucy Pevensie after her.  A very interesting piece of theatre, where you come out feeling like you’ve learnt something new.”

3 words to sum up: Interesting, Intriguing & Fantastical.

Le Bossu – 6pm @ Bedlam
Le-Bossu-Banner

Ok so we have already picked Le Bossu once but it really is an amazing show & this is its last weekend so SEE IT WHILE YOU STILL CAN!

Marketing Assistant Richard says: “This is an extravaganza of performer skill: singing, dancing, playing instruments, brilliant chorus work using voice and movement. A solid structure representing the organ of the cathedral helps create levels in the performance space in this creative retelling of The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Get a ticket if you can!”

3 words to sum up: Inspiring, Heartfelt & Energetic.

What would you recommend seeing this fringe? Let us know in the comments below or tweet us @WhiteSlateUK.

We will be performing Captured again tomorrow at 12.40pm @ Underbelly Cowgate (if you are planning to come this weekend BOOK NOW as we are almost sold out!) 3 words to sum it up: Engaging, Mesmeric & Emotional.
